Onam, the state festival of Kerala was celebrated on 5th september Friday with pomp and show in the school. The celebration was inaugrated in the morning at 9:30am in the school assembly ground by the Principal Rev.Sr.Infant Tresa and she delivered a speech to enlighten and empower the minds of the students.There were various competitions in connection with Onam Fest 2014-15. A floral carpet competition was conducted for classes six to plus two.Each class participated in it with much enthusiasm and true spirit. Apart from,floral carpet competition some other interesting and attractive competition like bread biting,lemon-spoon race,candle race,maveli competition, onappattu, malayalimanka,tug of war and pot breaking were also held for the students of various classes.On the occasion school took much initative to distribute delicious payasam to all the students.Onam Fest 2014-2015 got over with the distribution of prizes by the principal by 3:30pm.
"The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes and inspires his listner with the wish to teach himself" 5th September is celebrated as Teachers Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by the teachers to the society. Dr. Radhakrishnan said instead of celebrating his birth day he wishes to observe it as teachers day. From then onwards the day has been observed as teachers day. To mark this day in particular, 5th september Friday the students warmly welcomed the teachers with a beautiful greeting song and buds of roses.The students expressed their care,faith,love and respect towards their teachers. Rev.Sr.Infant Tresa in her address reminded both the teachers and students about the value of the teachers.Thereafter she handed over the lighted candles to every teacher symbolysing that they are the ones who eradicate the ignorance of darkness and they are the sources of wisdom and knowledge.
The Sahodaya Art Fest "VISMAY_2014" held at Vimala Public School,Thodupuzha, on 11th,16th,17th and 18th of October 2014. From Jai Rani Public School, 106 students participated in four categories and common group items. Our school secured 14 first prizes,12 second prizes and 11 third prizes and stood in fourth position among the total of 87 schools with 505 points. For the category I&II, we scored the maximum points and won the overall trophies
KIDS ARTS FEST 2014
The Arts Fest of classes 1 & 2 began with the competition of Light music following by Malayalam speech, Malayalam Storytelling, English speech, English storytelling.
CHILDREN'S DAY 2014-15
The Childrens day celebration began with Fancy dress competition. A warm welcome was given to chachaji[Christy Sinu of class II] along with our chief guest Rev.Dr.Bertha SABS inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. A very enlighten message was given by her. Children were given sweets. We have conducted various entertainment programs like speech,story,songs,dance,action song etc which gave childrens immense pleasure. Concluded with Prize distribution in Arts and Sports competitions. The ceremony came to an end by the vote of thanks by kumari Alka Sara Sajan of classII.
A team of 35 members from France visited our school on 20-10-2014. The purpose of the visit was to understand the working of a CBSE school in Kerala. They reached our school by 9:00 AM and were given a warm welcome at the school gate. They attended the morning assembly and after wards visited the class rooms and interacted with the students. The team highly appreciated the working of our school and our methods of teaching learning process. Cultural treats like Mohiniyatam, Bharatanatyam, Margamkali, Thiruvathira etc. were performed for them. They were thrilled by the marvellous steps of our students. Highly appreciating the working of our school they left by 1:00PM.
The feast of our beloved Principal Rev.Sr.Infant Tresa,who bears the name of St.Tresa was celebrated on 07-10-2014 in a very grand manner. In the morning assembly festal greetings were showered on her. From teachers side Ms.Bindhu P. Paul and from the students side Mast.Mohan Jose felicitated the occasion. They wished our dear Principal a lot of blessings in the coming years through Saint Tresa her heavenly patroness. A gift was presented to our dear Principal by Sr.Cletus SABS as a token of our love and gratitude to her. May God Almighty bless our beloved Principal with health and long life,so that she may guide us in the years to come.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2014
The 68th INDEPENDENCE DAY was celebrated in our school with great pomp and show. The National Flag was hoisted at 8:30am with band set and march past. The Chief guest, Shree. P.S.Subramaniyan,Sub Inspector of Police, after hoisting the flag received the salute. In his message, the chief guest advised the students to love our nation. After that our Principal Rev.Sr.Infant Tresa freed a dove as a symbol of peace and love towards the nation and humanity. The flag hoisting programme ended with national anthem. A variety of entertainment programme was arranged in the auditorium after flag hoisting.Patriotic songs,dances, speech etc.were enjoyed and appreciated by everyone. The video clip arranged by the celebration committee was highly patriotic.After the Principals message the plus one students arranged some entertainment games. The games which were systematically organized created enthusiasm among all the teachers and students. Sweets were distributed among the students,parents and teachers before winding up the programme. The celebration was very much attractive,colorful and created a feeling of patriotism among all.
PRESENTING THE MERIT CERTIFICATES FROM THE MINISTER
On 8th August 2014,teachers teaching classes X & XII were presented with the appreciation letters from the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Smrithi Zubin Irani for their excellent results in the Board Examinations. Prof. Jessy Antony (Former Chairperson,Thodupuzha Municipality) was the chief guest of the day. In her inspiring speech she stressed on the importance of the teachers in the education of students. Teachers are the models for the students and it is the duty of the students to respect and obey their teachers for reaching greater heights. MILES OF SMILE(SEMINAR ON DENTAL HYGIENE)
A dental care awareness class and dental check up was held on 17th July 2014 at school auditorium. Class IX and X students utilized this event. At 11:30,there started the class on dental care and hygiene,conducted by different doctors from Al-Azhar Dental College. Dr. Civiy V. Pulayathu,Assistant Professor of Al-Azhar Dental College,guided the programme. The doctors imparted some essential knowledge and tips about dental care. It must be beneficial for the coming generations. Mr.Noble Jose the incharge of Health & Wellness Club organized and Mr.Surendran,Mr.George Thomas & Miss. Sherine Janet Tom made all the necessary arrangements. The programme finished by 1 o clock.
COOKERY SHOW-2014(WORLD ICE CREAM DAY)
World ice cream day was celebrated on 17-07-2014 in our school. Under the leadership of cookery club fruit salad was prepared by 15 students of class VII & VIII. Mrs.Bindhu P.Paul and Mrs.Shanty George supervised the programme. The preparation started at 11 am and ended by 11:30 am. A variety of fruits like apple,grapes,mango,banana,pineapple, water melon etc. were used in the preparation of the fruit salad. The item was served to all the teachers and 135 students of class I. All appreciated the taste of it and wished the same may continue in the coming year too.Principal Rev,Sr Infant tresa appreciated the efforts of the cookery club.
PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT & DENTAL HYGIENE
JCI-junior,Jai Rani unit and Health Club arranged a motivation and personality development training programme on 17th July 2014 at school auditorium. It was arranged for the students of classes 8,9 &10. J.C.Seby, Chairman of JCI Vazhithala unit helped to arrange this programme. Dr.Civy V.Pulayath an International Trainer was the resource person.His training session was so energetic,enthusisatic and helpful and it was a need for the new generation students.His technique and way of presentation was excellent and it was much useful to the students and teachers. Health Club incharge Mr.Noble Jose was the incharge and Mr.Surendran was the co-ordinator of this programme. Mr.George Thomas,Mr.Biju Kuriakose & Ms.Sherine Janet Tom also rendered their valuable and sincere services and made this programme a great success. Every teachers and students enjoyed and appreciated this session. They have imbibed worthy values and techniques to achieve their goals in life.
BRAZOOKA WORLD CUP FOOTBALL-2014 PREDICTION CONTEST
Health and Sports club of Jai Rani Public School Thodupuzha arranged a world cup Football Prediction Contest for the Jairanians. Students from the class I to XII and teachers also enthusiastically participated in it. It was a new and thrilling experience for the students during the world cup season. Physical trainer Mr.Noble Jose took initiative and Mrs.Chinnamma Paily,Ms.Sherine Janet Tom together made all the arrangements and Mr.Riju Thomas and Mr.Surendran also helped a lot. The next day of the World Cup Football Final,the winners of the contest are selected.Class representatives from class I to XII picked the lots and 12 consolation prizes are given to 12 students from each standard. The mega offer Brazooka Football won by Athul K Binil from class VII B. Rev.Sr.Infant Tresa gave away all the prizes and congratulated them. All the students and staff enjoyed this new event.
KARGIL SANTHOSH KUMAR MEMORIAL PATRIOTIC SONG COMPETITION
Seva Bharathi, Thodupuzha unit conducted a patriotic song competition on 13th July,Saturday,1:30 pm onwards. It was held at Krishna Theertham auditorium,Thodupuzha. It was conducted in memory of the Kargil Martyr, Santhosh Kumar. Jai Rani Public School participated in the competition and the High School section secured third prize. Most respected and beloved Sr.Mary taught and gave all practices for the team. Mr Surendran, Social Science faculty assisted with the students on the day of competition. FIFA WORLD CUP QUIZ COMPETITION 2014 CONDUCTED BY JCI VAZHAKULAM
JCI Vazhakulam unit arranged a World Cup Quiz Contest on 11-July 2014 at Carmel CMI Public School Vazhakulam. Many students from different schools participated. Mr Surendran,Mr Biju and Mr Noble conducted a contest at school level and selected two groups and sent them for the competition. And Appu S Palathinkal and Anand Shankar of class 10 secured second position.The winners got Rs 2000 + Trophy and certificates. The School Principal,Management and all the staff of the Jai Rani Public School congragulated the Winners and wished them more success.
The programme started with the school Choir.Kumari Rose Xavier Head girl of the institution welcomed the guests.The students from classes VIII-X attended the seminar.The seminar covered all the areas about the stastitics of World Population giving more significance of Indias population as an asset.The seminar was very informative and useful to both the students and the Teachers.The programme successfully ended with the vote of thanks of Master Mohan Jose(Head Boy of the Institution).
FIFA QUESTO 2014
Health Club conducted a school level World Cup Quiz contest on 8th July. Thirty six students participated and ten students qualified for the second level and the next day arranged the final. Mr. Surendran, Mr. Riju Thomas together prepared the questions and Mr.Noble Jose made all the arrangements and taken the photographs. Anand Shankar and Appu S Palathinkal got the First prize and Paul B Maliyekal and Gopu K Raju secured the Second position and they were selected for the Quiz programme at Carmel CMI Public School,Vazhakulam which will be held on 11-7-2014.The winners are awarded Trophies by the Principal Sr Infant Tresa.
ARTS FEST 2014
Our school conducted Arts Fest(Extra Vaganza 2014)on 4th(Friday) and 5th(saturday) of July 2014.Around 1050 students participated in this event and it was very difficult to judge the winners as all the students performed their best.On 4th Friday we organized all the off stage items and on 5th saturday stage items were conducted. The Arts Fest 2014(Extra Vaganza 2014) was inaugurated on 5th July Saturday by Shri.Jins Gopinath(IDEA Star Singer 2008,Mega Finalist)followed by the childrens programmes.The result of all the stage items were announced by around 3:00pm.It was indeed a magnificent day and the students enjoyed it to the full.
AKHILA KERALA READING COMPETITION 2014
Library Council conducted a quiz competition in the name All Kerala Reading Competition 2014. The questionaire for the quiz competition was given to us and was asked to conduct the competition on 2-7-2014 at 2 pm and it was conducted as per the directions. On 30th June the details regarding the Quiz competition was given to the students. The students of UP and HS were informed to give their names to their Malayalam teachers if they wished to take part in the competition on or before 01-07-2014. From HS section 80 students and from up section 128 students gave their names. Thus the total participants were 198 students. The questions were read out by Sr.Cletus and the programme conducting teachers evaluated the answer sheets. Because of the whole-hearted co-operation of everyone the competition became a grand success.
ANTI DRUGS DAY
In relation with anti-drugs day Jai Rani Public School conducted a poster designing competition and a seminar on 26th June 2014. Around 82 students were participated in poster designing competition.It was a tough contest and helped to identify the talents among students. On 26th June,a seminar held on the topic ill - effects of drugs by Science and Maths club in association with Janamaitri Police,Thodupuzha at school auditorium.The function was welcomed by Miss.Rose Xavier,Head Girl and inaugurated by Sri.C S Subrahmanyam(SI of Police). The Principal,Rev. Sr. Infant Tresa had given a message.Sri.Sajan S(CRO,Janamaitri Police) felicitated on the occassion.Prizes for the poster designing contest were distributed. Adv. Albert Jose was the resource person and had given a fruitful class on the topic.The function was concluded by giving vote of thanks by Master Mohan Jose,Head Boy.
